Presentation of Plom i formigó, a novel by Xàbia writer Arnau Castell Alemany.
Plom i formigó by Arnau Castell Alemany, a writer from Jávea.
Winner of the Premi València de Narrativa en Valencià 2026
Synopsis
An unpleasant discovery, during the demolition of a housing development abandoned in the property crash, leads the unconventional investigators to look into the remains of a fraudulent network stretching from the Marina Alta to the Alacantí. The search to put faces to the suspects years after the events brings friction and obstacles, and the realisation that everyone, for various reasons, has something to hide.
Plom i formigó stems from a fascination with the concrete corpses and the petty corruption left behind by the property bubble and the unbridled megalomania all along the Valencian coast. It starts from a dystopian premise to fictionalise events that are all too real, inviting us to reflect on the persistent destruction of our landscape and heritage, since if stupidity is infinite, there is no need to speak of greed.

Sinopsis
